Meet Kirk Summers

Welcome to my website! I specialize in dance, sportraiture, and headshots. I am based in Helena, Alabama (near Birmingham, Alabama).

While still in my teens on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I undertook an apprenticeship with a professional photographer as part of a high school project. I bought a Pentax K-1000 and a roll of black-and-white film and set off on my photographic journey. Ever since, I've been hooked. I took a detour into another career, but I never stopped thinking about photography and trying to see the world through a lens. I finally gave into that inner pull to return to my first love and, and now, with a little more maturity and worldly experience, to share my own perspective with you.
